The chair expands the upholstery composition ideas initiated in the ottoman to a chair and footstool. The chair frame is composed of a pair of partial cross lapped red oak members that support the color and texture compositions of the back and seat. The inverted 'u' of the chair frame is repeated in the footstool.

 

The ottoman and the chair and footstool are prototypes of furnishings that allow for variation in configuration by slight alterations in dimension, material and/or upholstery composition.
